One Day We Hope To Fund A Ladies Discipleship Class

Our May session of the men’s Discipleship Training class concluded today. It is exciting and beautiful to see the Lord at work in these men as He grows and matures their faith.
We strongly desire to have a ladies’ Discipleship Training class NEXT WEEK for some of the mature ladies in a few of our congregations. We can house a few more ladies, so we need $800 (minimum) to $1,000 (fully funded) to fund the class. Only if the Lord makes provision will we be able to make it happen. So we pray, and we will see what the Lord does. Pictures of some of the ladies are included, so you can put faces with this prayer request.

UPDATE: WILL THERE BE A LADIES’ DISCIPLESHIP CLASS? If we do not get the funds soon, this will not happen. We can meet this week on Tuesday and Wednesday, or next week. Those are the only possible dates. We are praying for provision, and we will see what the Lord does.

We have had no provision for this, so we are allowing the Lord to lead as He sees fit. There will come a time when it will be the right thing to do, but apparently not now.

Testimonies Of God’s Work In Kaliro District!

At both the Discipleship Group and the Kaliro group, we heard more testimonies of God at work in the village. Fazil has been talking about his God everywhere he goes, inviting them to join our Bible study. With the two groups, there are about 35 people ready to be baptized. We continue to pray for provision so we can transport everyone to the Lake on June 5. One beautiful thing about these groups is the huge number of the Kirimungo family members who have come to know the Lord.
We started with my encounter with Richard, the single dad and eldest brother, back in 2019. In 2020 I met three more Kirimungo brothers at the mud hole encounter: Livingston, Shannon and Daniel. They are now all saved and helping to lead the village congregations. The gospel message has been sweeping through their large family since, and they are now ready to publicly declare their faith through baptism. I have been told there are 20 siblings in this family group, and most, if not all, of them now know the Lord.
Recently, when Muslim leadership came from Kampala to check out what is going on in this village, I am told they were very upset and declared the village a lost cause (to Islam) because Christianity has taken the village for the Kingdom of God. What a wonderful “problem” to have! To God be the glory!

A Home For Widow Lovisa And Her Children

The widow Lovisa has been coming to the Wairaka congregation for over a year. She has been on a list of families awaiting sponsors for much of that time. Today she shared the struggles she is encountering. Her home had been built on public land and the authorities have come and torn it down. For a season she is staying with another family, but desperately needs a better solution.
We see in the Bible that God is a Defender of the widow and a Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). Lovisa is being given the opportunity to walk out that truth in her life and the lives of her children. Please pray for God to move in a way that clearly shows His hand upon her.
If you would like to sponsor her family, she needs at least $100 per month to provide them one meal a day. If you would like to help her rent a place to live, that would be helpful, too. We will have to see what’s available.

Help us baptize the children.

In Bulange, I had the rare privilege of getting to teach the children. Most of our adults are still harvesting peanuts so we focused on the children. What a blessing! We looked at some Bible stories and saw the continuity of God’s presence with His people. We also shared an invitation for salvation and about eight new children prayed for salvation. There are close to 20 children ages 10 and up who would like to be baptized. If we take them to Lake Victoria next week along with the adults, it will necessitate a large bus, adding another $500 to the Baptism Transport required. All we know to do is pray for the Lord to provide a means of transportation for every person who wants to follow the Lord in baptism on June 5th. It’s a wonderful challenge to have, but it is a challenge.
